Where did you grow up? What was it like?
I grew up in several locations. I was born during World War II, just months before D-Day. My hometown is Alexandria MN. After my Dad was discharged, he scrambled for work. I therefore attended six different schools in my grade school years, finally settling in the Blaine MN. area. Times were tough, and we lived simply. Now days they call it living green.

Why do you live in the Brainerd Lakes area? What do you like most about it?
I love living in the Brainerd Lakes area. My Grandfather built his home in Nisswa many years ago. I always enjoyed the area, whenever we came to visit. There was a natural draw to the area because of this earlier experience. I like the lakes up here. I am a fisherman, of course. But just being up here does something for my psyche that's hard to put in words!

What is your favorite lake? Why?
My favorite lake would probably be Lake Emily. We have owned our Lake Home on Lake Emily since the fall of 2001.

What is your favorite part of working in Real Estate?
My favorite part of working in real estate is the thrill I get to share with families whenever we purchase their dream place on a lake!

What is the most unusual thing you have encountered while working in Real Estate?
I sometimes tell my "Green Chevrolet Story." I listed a green rambler style home quite some distance from where we live. It was green everywhere inside and out. On the way over to do an open house I vowed that if anyone showed up...I would sell that house to them. As I was closing up, up drives this young couple in a green Chevrolet. I am not making this up. I figured...aha, they like green! I followed them out to the car, which was a gorgeous 1964, refurbished car. I asked to see the engine, etc. Then, I leaned back on the fender and said "you know this seller really wants to sell this home!" She said, "what do you think honey...I know you kind of like it." We wrote up the purchase agreement in the green kitchen!

Why should someone choose you as their real estate agent?
Anyone who chooses me as their real estate agent is going to employ someone who truly cares about helping people! And, with over 27 years of experience, they will be well served!
