Lynn Schmidt, Associate Broker - Brainerd Lakes/Crosslake

Where did you grow up? What was it like?
I grew up on a farm in Jackson County, southwestern Minnesota along with my four brothers. We all went to high school and played in sports there creating lifetime memories.

Why do you live in the Brainerd Lakes area? What do you like most about it?
As an avid hunter and fisherman I always liked the woods and water. After 15 years of going north on vacation we purchased a lake lot in the Crosslake area and built a home on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes in 1999.

What is your favorite lake? Why?
The Whitefish Chain is where I live, work and play. I have always enjoyed the diversity of the Chain with the many islands, bays, marinas and restaurants. However, there are many other lakes in the area that offer their own unique amenities as well.

What is your favorite part of working in Real Estate?
Working with buyers and sellers in a recreational sales transaction is an exciting event for everyone involved. It also allows me to often work in the outdoors environment which I enjoy very much.

What is the most unusual thing you have encountered while working in Real Estate?
There have been many, but on the lighter side...having an eagle drop a walleye out of a tree in front of my vehicle or having a wild turkey pecking at my tire wheel rim after seeing a mirror image of itself...all during the course of showing lake cabins.
