Well right now the water is unusually high for this time of year. Volden's Pit is closed off do to the high water. Only if there was some way to get across the water covering the road because I have a feeling the crappies are going to be on the edge of the flooded shoreline between the boat landing and the pier. Last year around July 4th my sister and I, out of randomness, tried casting a bobber rig with a tiny red and green Gens Worm(I dont know how to spell that) with a crappie minnow right outside of the partially flood weeds on the shoreline. We would of caught our limits if I didnt miss so much. Also the minnows ran out. This was close to dark. Our routine was this, 600 to 730 walleye fishing on the south openning of the culvert(guessing the spelling, dont have time to look it up) with a bright green floater casting out about 20-30 yards with a fathead. And 730 to around 830-900 we sat on the pier and casted straight of the SIDE of the dock about 2-1/2 feet out.
