Cradled in the Superior National Forest with much of its natural beauty protected, Bear Island lake is touted by the Mpls. Star Tribune as being "one of the prettiest lakes in the north country."

Bear Island Lake is approximately 20 minutes south of Ely, the gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area wilderness, and 5 miles from Babbitt (for groceries, gas, hardware, and churches).

SMOKING POLICY:
There is no smoking in the cabin. If you must smoke, please be sure to put out all cigarettes in a container. Do not deposit on the property or in the lake.

CELL PHONES:
Most cell phones will work in the area. There is no land line phone.

DESCRIPTION:

Three bedrooms, sleeps 10. Master "tropical fish" bedroom features a queen size bed with private vanity area, and sauna. Enjoy the scenic view of the lake from the large windows or a tranquil view overlooking the woods from the 3-season porch off of the master bedroom. Relax and unwind while you steam away the stress of the day in your own private sauna. You will enjoy a restful night's sleep in your comfortable bedroom that features a ceiling fan and a room air conditioner.

The "Wolf" bedroom with two oversized bunks will sleep a pack of kids or two couples. The bottom bunk has a King size mattress, the top has two twin mattresses. Cool off at night in this air conditioned bedroom.

The "Black Bear" bedroom is drenched with natural lighting from its many windows. Snuggle with your Honey Bear in the full size bed. This bedroom features a ceiling fan which will ensure a restful night's sleep. You will enjoy the privacy of your own outside door from which to leave your den.

Sit back, relax and take in the stunning lake views from the comfortably furnished living room. Featuring a matching couch with love seat and sleeper sofa for extra sleeping accommodations. Warm up by the fireplace on cool evenings, or cool off with the ceiling fan or air conditioning on those hot Minnesota summer nights. Entertainment Center equipped with TV for your DVD's and a stereo for your listening pleasures.

Eat-in kitchen with large table seats 6. Your fully equipped kitchen has plentiful counter and cupboard space. Make meals in ease with the new appliances; microwave, side by side refrigerator and gas oven, coffee pot, coffee grinder, blender, griddle and more. Dad can do the grilling on the Webber or propane grills or let the kids have a wiener and marshmallow roast while sitting around the camp fire.

Enjoy fine or casual dining on the wrap around deck overlooking beautiful Bear Island Lake. Patio umbrella table accommodates up to 6 guests, with an additional pick nick table for those large family gatherings.

Take in the glorious lake sunrises with a cup of fresh brewed coffee while relaxing in the canopied swing. Be inspired as you witness the pair of loons as they glide by within a few feet of the dock in the early mornings and evenings.

Relax on the glider bench or get in on the action and catch Large Mouth Bass, Croppies, Northern Pike and more from your own private dock. Dock has tie off's for your boat(s).

Take the paddle boat or canoe for a scenic tour and explore the lake and abundance of islands. Enjoy a fun game of bocce ball, horseshoes or tether ball, hiking or 4- wheeling on the numerous trails. There is something to do for everyone at Beautiful Bear Island Lake Bungalow!

Other amenities include a clothes dryer, (sorry no washing machine the septic tank cannot accommodate it).
